a center for rights discourse and multi disciplinary arts initiatives

Linked with Flavia Agnes – India.

One of the projects – Cinema City Mumbai: Cinema City is an attempt to create an audiovisual dateline of Asian cities with 100 year old cinema histories through multi-disciplinary art and research practices, such as cartography, film and video productions, visual art works, seminars and publications. The aim of this endeavour is to study the City, in particular, the city that is inextricably linked to its ‘cinemascape’. The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will culminate into an extensive exhibit on Bombay/Mumbai: The Cinema City. The second phase will be in collaboration with two other cinema cities in Asia-Tehran and Hong Kong. Project dateline: July 2007- January 2009. Project dateline: July 2007- January 2009. Kindly contact us if you are a student, researcher, city/cinema-phile, willing to volunteer time and energy to this project.

Centre for Rights Discourse: The centre for rights discourse has been engaged in a comprehensive programme for securing the rights of women and marginalised segments. In order to make rights, and legal provisions in protection of those rights, accessible the centre functions through multiple layers of litigation, pedagogy, campaigns, academic inputs and support to women lawyers from non-metropolitan background … (full text).

Centre for Multi-Cultural Arts Initiatives: It is a center for multi-cultural art initiatives. It was officially inaugurated in 1990 with a women’s cultural festival titled Expression.

The programme towards this goal range from fellowships for artists to film/theatre/CD-Rom productions to political footage archive to pedagogical activities to mobilizing art initiatives in the fora of political articulations … (full text).
