Repower America

Repower America is the bold clean energy plan to “repower” our country with 100% clean electricity within 10 years

Linked with The Alliance for Climate Protection, and with American Clean Energy & Security Act of 2009, ACES.

First described in a speech last July by Al Gore, Repower America means new industries with high-paying jobs. It means lower energy costs. And, it means substituting clean domestic sources of energy and a transition away from dirty coal and foreign oil. Read about the goal here … (full text Homepage … and map).

About /What is Repower America? The Repower America brand comprises two separate corporate entities, the Alliance for Climate Protection and the Climate Protection Action Fund.

The Alliance for Climate Protection and the Climate Protection Action Fund each use the Repower America brand for their distinctive campaigns in order to do a broad range of work to address the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis. This Web site collectively refers to each organization’s efforts under the name “Repower America.”

Although there is some overlap in the work done by each organization under the Repower America brand, certain activities must be done by one organization and not the other. This is primarily in the area of lobbying. The Climate Protection Action Fund engages in direct and grassroots lobbying activities influencing legislative proposals and the passage of key federal climate and energy legislation. As an organization that is eligible to receive contributions that are tax-deductible by the contributor, federal law limits the extent to which the Alliance for Climate Protection may engage in lobbying activities. Therefore, most of the lobbying activity done under the Repower America brand and discussed in this Web site is done by the Climate Protection Action Fund. By contrast, most of Repower America’s education efforts about the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis described in this Web site are done by the Alliance for Climate Protection.
