About: The Citizenship Foundation is an independent education and participation charity that exists to encourage and enable individuals to play an effective role in democratic society.

Our vision is of a just, inclusive and cohesive society in which individuals have the knowledge, skills, confidence and motivation to engage effectively in their communities.

Our work is grouped into three strands:

Central to our Strategic Plan is a commitment to ensuring that our resources and programmes can be accessed by young people experiencing, or at risk of, exclusion and in those communities that are most commonly excluded from participation and engagement, locally and nationally.

The Citizenship Foundation works through programming, policy dialogue and resource development to create opportunities for young people to explore citizenship in education and through participation and social action.
